Adventure Travel Information

This is not a list of adventure travel companies. The names and addresses listed here are of companies offering natural history and research oriented tours (ecotourism). I have divided the list into two parts.

Research adventures

This is a list of independent research organisations that offer the general public the chance to participate directly in the research as 'paying volunteers'. Participants not only get their hands dirty, but also help to finance the groups' research. In this day of shrinking government funding, such programmes are often the only way of financing scientific research. Additionally, findings get out to the public directly, in a form they can understand, having participated directly in the research.

Natural History adventures

This is a list of companies offering the chance to experience Nature first hand, but with a level of comfort slightly higher than the research adventures. Most of these companies are for-profit businesses (non-profits are marked), and are grouped by location (country, province/state, city).

To add names to this file, email me at the address below. Include company names, snail mail addresses, and a brief description of the company and its trips. Also include relevant internet sites. Both lists are growing quickly, and are updated as often as I have the time to edit this file.
